I'm an author and rancher that loves the Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior, cows (well, animals in general), and history.
My own history as a Christian began when I attended Vacation Bible School many years ago. One of the take home papers asked when the reader was saved. I couldn't give an answer. I knew that I believed in Jesus, but I didn't know for sure if I was going to Heaven when I die. The next day I couldn't wait until VBS was over so I could talk with the teacher, Linda Brown, about how to be saved. After repenting and calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation, I became a new creature and began a new journey through life.
Today I attend Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford, TX where I fellowship with some of the most wonderful people I've ever known. Because of my love for the Lord, I try my best (though perhaps not always successfully) to glorify Him in all that I do. Through raising cattle to writing to enjoying family and friends, I desire to show Christ to those who do not know Him and to encourage and exhort those who do.
Though I loved writing short stories as a child and through my youth, writing didn't take a prominent place in my life until many years later when I started writing about horses and horse husbandry for magazines and books. That became the catalyst for me to seriously consider writing fiction . . . but not just any fiction--fiction that would present Biblical truths through story. This led to me publishing Best of Faith, Fiction, Fun, and Fanciful, and writing more novels, including Joab's Fire which was be released in June 2011, and later the devotional, A Week of Faith More Precious than Gold.
